The bar chart delineates the variation in the income brackets of US households from 2007 to 2015.
In general, it is noteworthy that the households earning within the range of $50,000 to $99,999 experienced a slight fluctuation across the years, whereas both the lowest and highest income groups, i.e., below $49,999 and above $100,000, observed an increase. Although a substantial number of US households earned more than $100,000 annually, it was the group earning between $75,000 to $99,999 that appeared to have a less pronounced representation.
The income category below $49,999 manifested a slight elevation in their population. In 2007, approximately 25 million households earned less than $25,000, marginally less than the 27 million households earning between $25,000 and $49,999. By 2015, both these categories witnessed moderate growth, with around 28 million households falling under each segment.
Conversely, the population of households within the $50,000 to $99,999 income bracket was relatively less. The numbers within this bracket remained fairly steady throughout the eight years, with 21 million households earning between $50,000 and $74,999, and approximately 15 million households within the $75,000 and $99,999 range. However, the income category exceeding $100,000 depicted the most significant shift, with an increase from nearly 30 million households in 2007 to 33 million in 2015, notwithstanding a brief drop to 27 million in 2011.
